This necklace is NOT for sale. It was originally created with the intention of selling it, but when I was done taking photos for the listing, I came across someone who I thought deserved to have it instead. She met me while I was out on my first swim and seemed to have really enjoy having gotten to see a real mermaid swimming about. She was a bit shy about taking the necklace, but I think she liked it!

Two new necklaces, both one-of-a-kind

Hurray! Today there have been two new waterproof necklaces added to my Etsy store! Both were made for swimming in freshwater and are very similar in style to the necklace that I showed you how to make in the video tutorial (below). However, these are a bit more ornate and do use a toggle closure instead of the lobster claw closure. I'm really happy with how they turned out and hope to find them their forever homes soon! Please know that while they are great for mermaiding, they also do look quite pretty on dry land too, so they aren't just for lake dwellers! ;D

You can keep scrolling down to see the pictures! (Oh... and they are pretty blurry... sorry about that! I'm more stable with fins than feet, as it turns out... XD)

How to a Seashell Necklace

If you would rather make your own mermaiding jewelry than purchase mine, here's a little video tutorial showing you how to get started! While I would be ever so happy if one of my handmade creations called your name, I know that sometimes the most special treasures are the ones that you make yourself. :)

The darker colors used on this necklace were inspired by the darkness of the night that it was created. I think this one would be great for a slightly mischievous mermaid or merman. ;D

You want to know what's really neat about this necklace? Not only is it waterproof, but it's also reversible! I'm not sure which way I like it better, actually!

This shell necklace was photographed at Grand Traverse Bay... my favorite place to go mermaiding! Whoot whoot!

This photo is pretty blurry, isn't it? (They all are, actually... I'm about as stable on land as a ship out in a storm! XD) The blurriness is really because the necklace is underwater though. :D It's laying on a rather fuzzy rock near the shoreline …

A balance of dark and light

This swimmable necklace was made on the same night as the one above it. It was inspired by the nighttime too, though I didn't want it to be quite as dark as its sister necklace.

Just like the other one, this sea shell necklace is reversible too! I really love the color of this shell. :)

See the hangman's knot (or hangman's noose) that suspends the seashell? I has seven coils on it which is thought to bring good luck! And... I think it looks pretty!

Here the shell necklace is soaking up some of the last of the sun's rays for the day. You can't really tell in this picture here, but the two purple-tinted gem beads that add an accent to the piece sparkle quite brilliantly in the sunlight!

Thank you for taking a look at my necklaces! If you'd like to make them yours, just let me know! ;D

Also, please be on the lookout for more mermaiding and mermaid-type goods coming to the store in the near future. I very much do enjoy sharing my crafts with others, and love doing so through my free video tutorials! However... I do hope to be able to visit my pirate friend overseas eventually, which will cost more than few sand dollars! So I can't offer everything for free! XD

Anyways, happy Mermaid Monday! I hope you have a day so full of magical things that it makes yesterday jealous!
