Lightning, Petoskey Stones & Mermaids? Rare finds at the beach

A Summer Thunderstorm brings Petoskey Stones to the shore... And a mermaid too???

Petoskey stones are one of the most sought after treasures in all of Northern Michigan. People come from far and wide to scour the beaches of the Great Lakes in search of these uniquely patterned rocks. They are usually quite difficult to find, as they look like a boring grey stone when dry and are becoming increasingly rare as more and more people take them home with them. However, if you look hard enough, you may be able to find on in this video! But that's not the only thing the thunderstorm pushed up onto shore... be on the lookout for a mermaid too! ;D

Lightning strikes over the water of Grand Traverse Bay during a summer thunderstorm, forcing a mermaid up onto the shore. While this video is a bit shaky, it does contain footage of one of the most beautiful locations in all of Northern Michigan. Also... can you spot the Petoskey stone hidden on the beach...?

How did you like this video? I'd love to hear what you thought about if you would like to leave a comment and let me know! What was your favorite thing about it? Would you like to see more like this?

Thanks for watching!

Sorry for the short and late blog post... we'll likely be putting our dog down tomorrow and the whole week in general has been quite emotional in so many ways. I suppose in stormy times like this, one should be on the lookout for pretty stones and mermaids, right? :)

Have a great weekend!
