It's that time of the year again! The Charlevoix Apple Fest was held last weekend (October 14th- October 16th) where people from all over gathered to celebrate the Autumn apple harvest. The event featured many different local farmers and a variety of artisans. So, naturally, this mermaid had to sprout some legs and see what all of the buzz was about!

Apples, Apples Everywhere!

There were tons of apples E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E at the Charlevoix Apple Festival, and they weren't just the basic "Red Delicious," "Fuji," or "Granny Smith" apples. Different farms sold different varieties, such as "Sweet Tango," "Honeycrisp" (which we were told are "little divas!"), "mutsu," and "snow," to name a few. Many vendors sold other products made with the fruit too, like ciders, jams, and baked goods.

My sister and I stopped at nearly every basket of apples we could find to snap pictures of them. They were so pretty that we couldn't resist! I love how vibrant these ones were. I can't remember what they were called though. :(

Large baskets full of apples like this seemed to fill every inch of the sidewalk in downtown Charlevoix. There were so many different types of apples to be found. Who knew one fruit could come in so many different flavors?

The staff at the farm stands were so knowledgeable... I don't know how they managed to tell all of their fruits apart from one another!

Other stars of the Autumn Harvest

Apples didn't get all of the attention though! Many of the vendors had some very plump pumpkins up for sale as well as apples, maple syrup, and even mushrooms!

Here, a cluster of pumpkins are waiting to go to their new homes. I would have purchased one myself, but I couldn't carry it and take photos at the same time!

I wonder what ended up happening with these cuties? I can't help but hope they didn't get gutted to become Jack-O-Lanterns! :o

Aren't these Jack-be-Little pumpkins so precious!?! I thought they were especially cute!

In contrast... I don't find these guys very cute. They actually freak me out! One of the vendors at the event sold different types of edible mushrooms. I've never seen a place sell so many different types of mushrooms before!

These ghostly looking "White Clamshell" mushrooms I found to be especially creepy looking! Eek! While I find fungus to be a very fascinating subject to photograph, it seriously makes me queasy looking at some forms of it. :C

Some things can't be captured with a camera lens...

Autumn leaves lay sitting on a bench in Charlevoix, Michigan. Fall is upon us, and the colors this year are simply stunning!

I didn't get as many pictures of all that was going on at the Charlevoix Apple Festival as I would have liked because I was too caught up enjoying the festive atmosphere... So if you would like to experience the autumn celebration in full, I highly suggest you check it out for yourself next year. It would be the perfect fit for anyone who is a total nut for fall, loves apples, and who wouldn't mind the breathtaking scenic drive to get there.

Thanks for taking a moment to read this post! Maybe I'll see you there next year?
