WHO IS MERMAID PHANTOM?
Mermaid Phantom is an original character of The Magic Crafter and is one of the most well-known mermaids both online and in the state of Michigan. Phantom is a Gothic mermaid who has silver hair and a beautiful tail of silver, white, purple and black. Because of her pale coloration, she looks a bit like a ghost in the water! It is due to this and due to the fact that the Great Lakes is where she calls home that she is sometimes referred to as the “Ghost of the Great Lakes.”
Mermaid Phantom adores dark and spooky things and chooses to dress like every day is Halloween. Why? Because Halloween isn’t a holiday that is celebrated underwater and when she discovered that land-folk have a fun holiday of dress-up, she fell in love with it. And so she dresses in a Gothic style, complete with black lips, glamorous Goth makeup and a skull necklace (which was a gift from her pirate friend, Mermaid Shadow).
Despite having a slightly spooky appearance, Phantom is very friendly and loves coming onto shore to make new human friends. She is often called upon to swim up to the shores of Lake Michigan (and beyond) to bring smiles to children and their families. She can also be spotted in rivers, tanks and pools.
When she isn’t performing at a beach or touching up her black lipstick, she’s often out hunting for Petoskey Stones, playing with smallmouth bass or trying to figure out where Shadow hid her treasure.
