At the Docks
The day I set off to photograph my latest jewelry creations (for sale here) was such a beautiful day. It was very sunny, uncharacteristically warm, and the water was so calm. While I only traveled down by the lake with the intention of taking pictures of my necklaces, the mermaid in me couldn't resist snapping a few of the nearby docks too. I find that being near the water keeps me calm, inspires me to create, and serves as a reminder that even in times of turmoil serenity will always exist. If you could use a little bit of the magic that the lake has to offer, then please enjoy these images. I hope they add something special to your day!
Calm and Clear
The marina has cleared out quite a bit since the summer ended. Where once many boats were docked the water now flows freely.
I'm not sure what these things were, but I found them fascinating! I think they may be part of a ladder used to get in and out of the water?
Here is another image of the ladder-like structures. The wear and tear them are no doubt the result of many years of use.
The docks take on new beauty when viewed through the world of reflections. As it turns out, the lake is quite the artist!
The water on the left side of the marina was much calmer than in the other areas of the marina. This reflection is almost a perfect duplicate of the dock it imitates.
I wonder what life is like on the other side of the reflection?
It's hard to think that just a few weeks ago these docks were still flooded with boats! I wonder where everyone ventured off to? I wonder how they are doing?
As my photographing session came to an end, the wind began to pick up and the reflections began to become more and more distorted. They were still so beautiful.
